CHADSTONE MALL MELBOURNE

Project details

Automating everything

This is another project where we are applying our expertise in automated static analysis. On a free form roof of the Chadstone Mall in Melbourne Australia, there are several thousands of unique glass elements. The practice so far was to choose some of the worst case glass surface, analyse them and determine the characteristics of the glass to be used. However, using human intuition we can make big mistakes when deciding which glass is actually the worst case one. We circumvented the entire problem by analyzing every single glass element in the structure, in an automated loop, and in detail - with hundreds of finite elements per element calculation.
